A Dream Realized . . . The College and the BCC Foundation saw a dream come true in October 2000 when the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery opened to the public. Donors attending a reception preceding the first public opening enjoyed the gallery’s exhibition of Works From the Permanent Collection curated by gallery director Kathleen Hancock. The Grimshaw–Gudewicz Art Gallery was the result of a two-year campaign led by the Bristol Community College Foundation, which raised more than $500,000 for the gallery. The funds were matched by public funds through the assistance of the Division of Capital Asset Management. “It starts with the Arts” “I am firmly convinced that the community with a strong arts commitment is the better for it.
