VA Educational Benefits Certification
The Certifying Official for BCC, Robin Gallant, must process a VA Enrollment Certification Form and send it to the VA Regional Office in Buffalo, NY before any benefit payments can be made. Each student must also complete a VA Application form and a form requesting certification each semester.
We recommend that you process your VA Application forms through the BCC VA Certifying Office. In this way we can attach your enrollment certification and send it to the VA Regional Office in Buffalo as a package.
VA Approved Programs
All Associate Degree programs and the GED program at BCC are approved for VA Educational Benefit. You must be in an approved program in order to receive benefits. If you have a question about this, come into the VA Certifying Office, G208.
Tuition Waivers (students personally responsible for all fees)
Wartime Veterans as defined by Massachusetts Public Law may be eligible for a "Categorical Waiver" if currently a resident of Massachusetts for at least one year. Bring a copy of your DD214 (#4) to the Director of Enrollment Services or Associate Registrar. You must complete a form each semester to receive this benefit.
Active Duty personnel stationed in Massachusetts are eligible for a "Categorical Waiver". You require a letter from your Commanding Office certifying that you are stationed and reside in Massachusetts.
Mass. National Guard Tuition Waiver
(State supported classes only - Day Time Fall/Spring semester), you must obtain the certificate through your Guard unit and bring it to "Student Financial Services."
VA Rehab (Chapter 31)
Students under this benefit program must bring authorization paperwork from the VA to the BCC Certifying Official. Normally students are serviced through the VA Office Providence.
