Alchohol and Drugs

Counseling and Health Services offers free and confidential support and education to BCC students. We aim to aid students in understanding and addressing the harmful effects of excessive alcohol and other substance use.  Below, you will find a summary of our services. For more information, please call us at 508.678.2811, ext. 2232, or you may email us.

Your academic success is important to us, and we look forward to providing the support and guidance you need to succeed!

We offer the following services:

Screening and brief interventions
After filling out a short survey -- in person or online (coming soon)-- relating to your alcohol and/or drug use, we can offer immediate feedback on how you can potentially avoid future alcohol- and drug-related problems. All information is kept strictly confidential.

Substance abuse counseling
For students who wish to address alcohol and/or other substance use concerns, we offer a five-session series where you can meet individually with a clinician to talk about your personal goals and develop a plan to address them.  As with all of our services, these sessions are free and completely confidential.

Professional Referrals
We collaborate closely with Stanley Street Treatment and Resources (SSTAR), a large, non-profit multi-service agency that offers mental health and substance abuse treatment services and other local agencies. As such, we have the capacity to locate the services you need.

Educational Resources

CORE's mission is to help students meet their educational and life goals by decreasing the harmful use of alcohol, illegal drugs and other substances. We want to inspire students to make healthy decisions regarding their life choices. CORE can provide educational materials for research papers, presentations, and other classroom-related projects.
