The essential elements of a Bristol Tech Prep Women in Technology program include:

  • a clearly defined articulated 2+2 pathway with options for further post-secondary education including as a minimum in high school :
    • two years of applied science
    • two years of Applied Math, Tech Prep Math or equivalent Mathematics courses
  • record-keeping and follow-up system including student registration in Tech Prep
  • support services at the high school level including a faculty mentor
  • exposure to the world of work through guest speakers and tours of business/industry
  • exposure to post-secondary options within engineering through campus tours and joint secondary/post-secondary activities
  • inter-school networking through field trips and activities
  • an annual affirmation of commitment by parents and students toward education in a technical career
